Yorkshire Railway Blog

July 2017

On our travels through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, We visited Goathland, Which is where Heartbeat,  Was filmed as well as being used in the early Harry Potter films as Hogsmeade. We spent several hours taking Photographs, Of the station and the Steam Trains that arrived and departed while we were there.
The wonderful village and railway station where the Steam Train travels through on its way to Pickering and to the Coastal town of Whitby. The Steam Train that is pictured is owned by the Thompson Locomotive Trust Number 61264, and was completed and entered traffic on the 5th December 1947. The landscape around this village is spectacular and we have not touched the surface so another visit will be needed.
