April Nature Photography Blog

Welcome to our April Nature Photography Blog. Based on Nature, Wildlife & Landscape Photography in the Countryside of North Yorkshire.

We had our first Photography road trip of the year, To visit the amazing RSPB Bempton Cliffs on the Yorkshire Coast. We arrived at RSPB Bempton Cliffs at first light as usual to find a very busy car park. Unusual for this time in the morning we thought, Quickly getting our kit together and heading onto the Clifftops. During the week. The First Sighting of the year of the Black Browed Albatross (Albert) was back at Bempton Cliffs. The weather was good but a little cloudy. We were hoping for some nice sunrise shots but will try again later in the year. Looking along the Clifftops in the distance you could see the Crowd of people. We thought we would go and see what was occurring before the crowds got bigger.

On Arrival At Staple Newk Viewing Platform Albert the Black Browed Albatross was already wowing the crowds. Unfortunately, the Light was still not great at this time so we just watched. As the light improved Albert went for a rest out of sight. That gave us the opportunity to photograph close-up Gannets Razorbills and Puffins that landed just below us. Really Enjoying ourselves, Then Albert the Albatross had another fly by or two, this time we managed to photograph him several times. After several hours stood in one place we decided to let others have a go so moved on to other parts of the amazing reserve.

After over 750 pictures were taken. We decided that was plenty for the first visit of the year.
