North Yorkshire is a fantastic area for wildlife photography because of its varied habitats and landscapes.
Woodlands, rivers, wetlands, nature reserves, farmland, moorland, historic estates, and the Yorkshire coast all provide opportunities to photograph different species throughout the year.
Some of my favourite subjects include kingfishers, sparrowhawks, kestrels, owls, great spotted woodpeckers, cuckoos, and deer.
I regularly explore the North Yorkshire countryside looking for wildlife and photographic opportunities, with many of my photographs taken close to home.

My North Yorkshire Wildlife Photography
North Yorkshire is at the heart of my photography.
I enjoy exploring the countryside, watching wildlife, and waiting for those brief moments when the light, behaviour, and composition come together.
Wildlife photography requires patience. Sometimes you can spend hours in the field without taking a photograph, while on another visit, everything comes together within a few seconds.
For me, that is part of the enjoyment.
I want my photographs to show more than just the species. I try to capture the character of the animal, its behaviour, and the environment in which it lives.
