Welcome to our May Nature Photography Blog. Based on Nature, Wildlife & Landscape Photography in the Countryside of North Yorkshire.

This month we watched and photographed our local wildlife and nature. Our two favorite local reserves are Staveley Nature Reserve and High Batts Nature Reserve. Up Early to get to Staveley for the Sunrise over the East Lagoon. That can be amazing certainly with the colours and reflections. As the wildlife is waking up and starting to stir. Some mornings it really is worth getting up early and on others, you can get a bit disappointed. But that is nature and wildlife in any part of the world not just North Yorkshire. Luck and be in the right place at the right time. This Time of year is one of our favorite times of the year. Spring Starts to change into summer but on cooler mornings you get mist in your landscape pictures certainly over water.

We managed to see our First Barn owl at Staveley nature reserve for a while. Always a pleasure to see and photograph. Took us a bit by surprise, though not as many photographs as would have liked. We were watching Swans and Ducks Performing. As the sunlight was starting to arrive. The colours and reflections are outstanding and the photographs were well-liked on our Social media accounts.

We are very lucky to live with so much wonderful Countryside and wildlife. Very close to home and getting up early in the morning makes you appreciate it even more.
